Dramatic eye make-up was a must with bright colored eye shadow, bold black eye liner, and lot's and lot's of mascrea.

Acceaseries:

scaves.gif

It was all the rage to wear scavers, everyone from movie stars all the way down to hippies were wearing them

homemadebeadedlovebeadeds.jpg

Beaded neckleases wear a must for any teen in the 1960's. Also hippies wore a lot of beaded jewery as well, they called them love beads, because they would make them for the people they loved as a sign of affection or gretatude.

aviatorglasses.jpg

If you were a man in the 1960's and didn't wear aviators you were not cool! A lot of hippies wore them as well, even woman.

Only the conservative woman wore gloves, unless you were dollying-up for something.

Bathing Suites:

These were the types of bathing suties out at the time. In fact two peices were never really woren untill the late1960's. A lot of people thought they were just to rascay.

bathing-suit-baby1-mw-69.jpg

These were what everyone was wearing, two pecie that covered your belly, bright colors, and fluffy fabric.

swim-caps.jpg

Another must have was a swim cap. Most woman would get swim caps with flowers, lot's of bright colors, and, or werid textures on them.

Designer Cloths:

whiteconheadthing.jpg

This was high fashion modeling at it's worst. The 60's at the time had the most ratical fashion ever to come out of America. Although the 1960's didn't have the worst fashion out of the U.S. era's, it did open the door for the later more ratical 70's and 80's clothing.

dress-shift-sears-68.jpg

Pants:

teen-pants-hip2-mw-67.jpg

Genes and long tight fitting pants had just become cool. In fact it was mostly guys who wore the tight genes.

pants-tunic-mw-69.jpg

This was not high fashison, but more of the more fashinable girls dress with long tops and bell bottom pants.

pants-bells-69.jpg

Here is the number one peice of clothing from the 60's, BELL BOTTOMS, every woman had to own at least one pair and even some men started wearing them too.

pants-bells-2-mw-69.jpg

Some more bell bottoms. Almost everything a woman would wear would be very flashy and full of bright colors.

culottte-dress-s-63.jpg

Since the everyday cleaning mom, wanted to be kind of trandy they would wear this half bell bottom, shorts, jumper suite thing.

Shoes & Socks:

highheals.jpg

These shoes were for dressing-up or for the more conservative woman

socks-many.jpg

Most girls wore knee high thin socks that made them all look like school girls. Socks would come all sorts of colors fabrics and lengths even.

shoes-sandals.jpg

Sandles were always bright and colorful

saddle-shoes1.jpg

A lot of teens wore these shoes they had no color, but went with everything.

shoe-m1.jpg

Men typically hand one pair of shoes they wore everyday and wore them into the ground. Most men also had a nice pair a dress shoe just like these ones.

plateformboots.jpg

Another fashison symbol of the 60's were plateform shoes, men, women, hippies, all loved these power house shoes. They would come in all sorts of colors and sizes and they go perfactly with bell bottoms.

Dresses:

teen-pants.jpg

Casual wear for a fashison savey teen in the 60's.

teen-skirt-sears-66.jpg

A little conservative, but for the most part woman dressed like this.

teen-school-mw-64.jpg

This is very very conservative. Nothing more nothing less.

teen-dress-1-mw-69.jpg

This is what a teen would probly wear to a dance or on a date or some kind of night out.

prom-dress-64.jpg

For nicer evenings out like prom and homecoming teens would still be bright, but ellagent.

housewife.jpg

Even though the moms dressed down to bell bottom shorts for cleaning they would go back to their 50's and 40's roots for nights out or when company was over.

wedding.jpg

Wedding dresses were not as puffy more stright and usally a lot of detail on the top.

Hippie Cloths:

hippyhair.jpg

A hippie man would grow out his hair, never brush it, and some ould put it in a ponytail.

longhippiehair.jpg

Same for the woman they would grow out there hair and never cut it. They really didn't put their hair in a ponytail, but they would put scavers in there hair.

pants-hip1a-mcc.jpg

Hippies usally dressed in natrual colors like browns, oranges, deep purples, forest greens, blood reds, etc, etc, and usally show as much skin as possible.

hippie-nude.jpg

Sometimes they would wear nothing at all.

barefoot.jpg

The never really wore shoes cause they liked to fell conected to the eather or they just couldn't afford them.

tyedyedresses.jpg

If they did wear bright colors it was because they were wearing tye-dye cloths. These peices of clothing were easy to make, cheap, and it could be an art project, so naturaly hippies love them.
